Ms. Yurkus has more than 26 years of lighting design experience. She has designed a diverse scope of projects, ranging from research facilities and lecture halls to night clubs, theatres and themed environments. As a result of her wide range of project know-how, Ms. Yurkus brings specialized, technical and creative knowledge to the collaborative process. This insight is essential to the working relationship between architect, client, and lighting designer. A graduate from Columbia University (MFA) and Pratt Institute (BFA), she worked three years with the Lighting Design Collaborative based in Philadelphia, and for 12 years at Fisher Marantz Renfro Stone in New York City. In 1998, she established lightTH!S, a women owned, lighting design firm headquartered in Boston. Ms. Yurkus has served as an adjunct professor of lighting design at the Parsons School of Design in New York, and has lectured at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. |
